I'm reading the Da Vinci Code and I never realized the profound influence that Constantine had on shaping the Christian religion, most notably The Bible. Is it true that he pretty much decided which gospels were allowed and which weren't? I also find it fascinating that he wasn't baptized until he was very near death. It would appear the Rome's first Christian Emperor wasn't Christian for long. I've also heard the driving force behind the acceptance of Christianity on his part was his wife Helena. Any one know of any interesting articles I could read on this? Thanks! -adv-
