Hi guys.

Firstlly may I both congratulate and thank you for providing a site made in heaven!:D

I am very lucky to have found two Roman settlement sites here in the Cotswolds which I have been given full access to by farmers to legally metal detect upon. They have and will continue to provide Roman coinage and artefacts for many years to come. Hopefully if I can master a computer whose sole aim in life is to destroy me, I will be able to provide your database with a good many coins over the next few years. However, a coin expert I am not so please bear with me until I get better at it....

To begin with I need your help as I am very computer illiterate :o I have attached 2 images of an excellent gold Solidus of Valens, Arelate[CONSTANTINA] mint [CONST] which was a single find. I'm afraid I have no access to any info on the coin so I cannot provide any wording for the database, I only have a very basic Spinks catalogue and the coin is not in it. What is puzzling me is that I can find no info on Valens gold coins with this mintmark anywhere on the web. I presume it is v.rare. Are you able to provide the necessary wording to go with it on the database?

Finally are the images o.k. to put on the database as they are?

Many thanx for your patience :)
