Forged AR Denarius of Julia daughter of Titus “Venus” RIC 56*

Method: Cast copy and artificial ageing. The line between the flan and the relief details does not have the sharpness typical for the struck coin. Note that the last letters of the obverse legend "STI" exist and are clearly visible, even though the piece of the blank under them is "missing".

Obv.: IVLIA AVGVSTA TITI AVGVSTI F – Diademed, draped bust right.
Rev.: VENVS AVGVST – Venus standing right. Leaning on a cippus and holding scepter (spear?) and helmet.
