Hi all. I've just joined the forum in hopes that you can help me ID a coin that was found on an 18th century archaeological site in Maryland. I'm a curator at the facility where the collection is stored and I'd like to add the coin to a type collection cabinet if I can figure it out. I've looked in books on world coins dating back to 1600 without luck. I can't make out any words, but there's a crowned bust on the obverse and a long cross on the reverse with a couple of other marks. I've attached a photo. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
