I recently came to have a coin that i cannot identify. i have asked a few people and searched the internet. the people that i have spoken to about it claim that it is Trajan and possibly Sestertius. on the front the only letters that can be figured out are "OAVGGERD". if there is anyone that can possibly assist me with identifying it please let me know.

Hello
From the portrait, it IS Trajan with no doubt.
Could you tell the diameter and weight of your coin, so that we can tell you if it is an as, dupondius or sestertius ?

In case it is a sestertius, the outline of the figurine on the reverse could be Victory leaning on a column, with S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI S C inscription,
Though, the obverse legend could be IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS V P P.

You can find a picture in Roman coins and their values, vol II, #3201 (p 110)
